Nintendo continues to keep the focus on the Wii U and its new controller. Reggie Fils-Aime, the President of Nintendo America, came on stage and announced that the Wii U will be able to support up to two GamePads. This is excellent, because it was previously believed to only have the processing power to support only one new controller simultaneously. WIth this announcement, that myth has been debunked. You can have two.

Does this mean that the Wii U system has more impressive hardware then we previously thought?

A huge variety of games for the new system was also shown, including classic franchises and those new to the Wii U. Those games previously released on other systems will likely support new mechanics thanks to the GamePad and its many features. It is nice to see Nintendo finally gain some third-party support . Here is a list of the biggest names for the Wii U shown the first time Nintendo took the stage in Los Angeles this year at the Electronic Entertainment Expo:

  • Pikmin 3
  • New Super Mario Bros U
  • Batman Arkham City: Armored Edition
  • Scribblenauts Unlimited
  • Mass Effect 3
  • Assassins Creed 3
  • Zombie U
  • Wii Fit U
