HTC Confirms One X, One XL, and One S will be receiving Jelly Bean
With Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) rolling out to the Galaxy Nexus and other devices being announced that will be receiving updates to Jelly Bean, owners of the HTC One X and One S can now rejoice as HTC confirms that their devices will be receiving an update to Jelly Bean in the near future an HTC Spokesperson said:
“We know HTC fans are excited to get their hands on Google’s latest version of Android. At this point in time, we can confirm that we have plans to upgrade our HTC One X, HTC One XL and HTC One S to Jelly Bean. Please stay tuned for more updates regarding device upgrades, timing and other details about HTC and Jelly Bean.”
These update plans do include the global versions and U.S. carrier branded variants of these devices and HTC has not confirmed Jelly Bean for other devices such as Verizon’s Droid Incredible 4G LTE and Sprint’s Evo 4G LTE, but they should receive the update as well (based off of speculation). Currently there are no official release dates at this point in time for these updates HTC is almost finished with rolling out Ice Cream Sandwich to all of the devices that they have promised and should be finished with that by the end of August. Hopefully, HTC can make their customers happy and get these updates out by the end of 2012.
Stay tuned for more updates as this story develops and other devices are named both by HTC and other Android handset makers.
