ad hoc

Doesn’t it suck when you don’t have a router, but you have my devices that have WiFi. They can be cell phones, iPods, Xboxs, etc. I was asked by a member of of FaceBook Fan Page (Which you should join by the way), to see if it possible.  I looked into it and here we are!

You need to be on a wired connection on your laptop and your laptop should have a WiFi card.

Windows Vista / Windows 7

- Have the Ethernet cable plugged in and verify that you can go online.

- From here. It depends on how your menu is displayed.

- (Category Menu) Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Network & Internet -> Network & Sharing Center -> Set up a new connection or network -> Set up a wireless ad hoc (computer to computer) network

- (Icon Menu) Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Network & Sharing Center -> Set up a new connection or network -> Set up a wireless ad hoc (computer to computer) network

- Put a name for the network and a password is recommended.

- Press Turn On Internet Connection Sharing

Mac OS

- Have the Ethernet cable plugged in and verify that you can go online.

- System Preferences -> Sharing

- Select the internet tab

- Where it says Share your connection from, select Built In Ethernet

- Where it says To Computers Using, make sure the only box checked is AirPort

- Put a name for the network and a password is recommended.

- Press start and you are good to go!
