This has been a movie that millions have been talking about, and it will certainly be compared to the previously made story about Jobs, “Pirates of Silicon Valley.” This time, a modern spin has been put into a film that takes place in the same period of history, as Steve Jobs, Apple’s co-founder and former CEO, began his journey toward the great and powerful entrepreneur that changed the way computers interact with us every day.
From the attention to detail regarding the user interface and typography, to a consumer-centric presentation of user experience, the movie looks at the life of Steve Jobs from early on, all the way into old age. From a young fool, to an old fool. From a guy with little to his name selling computers out of a garage, to the most powerful company in the world.
I have to say, after seeing the trailer, I’m a bit more optimistic for this film. I had my doubts when they debuted the teaser video before, especially since Steve Wozniak himself commented saying that the event never even happened. This film needs to remember that everyone will be fact-checking it, and thus, the realism and true-to-history events is more important simply entertaining us.
I might be entertained when I watch it, but I will not be satisfied if the film strays too far away from a biography, and into the realm of fiction storytelling.
What do you think of the film so far?
