Managing your fan pages (or business pages, if that suites you better) can be a real pain in the ass on a mobile device. Although your browser treats your Facebook-experience differently when you use pages and your own profiles, mobile applications rarely give any difference in experience at all. That similarity can be troublesome for many brands who have been hoping to take advantage of the same features their profiles have right on their pages. Features like posting rich links with thumbnails and excerpts (something that really only works when posting to your own profile).

Today, Facebook has launched a new “Pages Manager” for Facebook page administrators. It’s another feature of their main app for the iPhone. The interface and usability will remain relatively the same as the normal Facebook application, but will cater it’s options and features specifically to page administrators instead. This way, elements of Facebook such as Insights for tracking analytics data, the number of people sharing your page, and the total number of people who have been exposed to your brand through the page, will now all be easily accessible.

According to 9to5Mac, Pages Manager available right now in New Zealand, but has not quite hit the United States just yet. It’s apparently coming soon though, so stay tuned for that!
