Focusing on similar success stories like Super Smash Brothers for Nintendo, Playstation All Stars Battle Royal combines the most famous characters from Playstation gaming into one fighting game that, let’s face it, is a total Super Smash Brothers ripoff in every way. The only thing that’s changed is the characters

I don’t fault Sony for doing this sort of thing either. Clearly, Super Smash Brothers is a huge reason to purchase a Nintendo console. I have yet to meet a single gamer that actually hated playing it. Everyone simply loves the constant and simultaneous carnage that can come from a four-person brawl. Where I fault Sony, however, is in their lack of originality. Most of the graphical effects look the same, and even their trailer has a similarly cut style of narrative to it. It’s a total rip-off.

Still, it’ll likely do well, because Playstation does have some pretty awesome characters. Interestingly enough, I don’t see Solid Snake in the game. It’s been licensed for Smash Brothers Brawl, so perhaps part of that agreement is preventing them from using their own character. That’s pretty interesting.

One more note – The video above (on YouTube) did have the video included with tags “Super Smash Brothers” and “Super Smash Bros”, but those tags have actually been removed now. The video also isn’t getting much love from viewers judging by that like button. I guess when it comes right down to it, nobody likes a blatant copy-cat
