With all the confusion swirling around the internet regarding the Ice Cream Sandwich update fore the Desire HD floating around the internet, spawning from TELUS in Canada cancelling the update for their variant there have been conflicting statements from both the carrier and HTC with in the last few days.

Finally,  HTC issued the following statement to put these rumors and speculation to rest

“After extensive testing, HTC has determined that the current version of HTC Sense with Android provides customers with the best experience on the HTC Desire HD.  When we consider new versions of software, we weigh a number of factors, but ultimately the customer experience on the product is the deciding factor. We apologize for any confusion this change may have caused our customers.”

Obviously, this isn’t the statement that Desire HD owners wanted to hear.  If you are brave enough to root your device there are several custom Ice Cream Sandwich ROMs, out at the moment with Jelly Bean ROMs starting to pop up, you haven’t been left completely in the dark, but there are features that aren’t working yet in those ROMs.
