Humans are the smartest animal in the world right? I mean, we have the capabilities of logic and reason, and we know the difference between right and wrong.
But as any woman in the world can probably tell ya, we humans (especially men) don’t have the best memories. That’s one area where humans don’t really excel as much as they should. As smart as we are, the primitive little versions of us, the chimpanzees, have a better ability to fast reaction and memory than we do.
Check out the video below. This is a recent study involving a chimpanzee named Ayumu, involving a memory test at the Primate Research Institute in Kyoto, Japan, which tested the chimps memory with a simple little touch-based game. The study is showcased by National Geographic with the video below.
The rules of the game are very simple: tap the numbers in numerical order, from lowest to highest. Pretty easy right? I mean, we all know how to count to ten, and we know which numbers between one and ten are “larger” in relation to other numbers. But where we seem to fall short is with our abilities to remember what we see. This becomes even more difficult with intense speed. At least for humans. Chimps don’t seem to have a problem.
The chimps memory is extraordinary compared to humans here.
After watching this video, try to see if you can even come close to competing with this little guy, by PLAYING THIS GAME. Good Luck!
